This blog is just where I leave my thoughts on being an artist and life itself.

rebate checks
So I was told that I could go onto the irs website to see when to expect my $600 rebate and I'll be getting it soon. Then I will get a new camera and finally be able to load new artwork. Yea!!! And maybe a new printer/scanner/copier and a new labtop on the way now that I have a steady job. Yea!!! Things are looking up.

A Strange Thing
A Strange Thing
I don"t about other people, but this is a weird thing that happens to me. Sometimes I could be driving down the road or sitting on my porch and I get the overwhelming sense of another life-like when I'm driving I get this vision of driving a different car, a different location, and sometimes I feel as if I look in the back seat I will see kids. Or if I'm on my porch I feel that if I look up I would see a different neighborhood. Weird, yes. It can't be deja vu and because it's feels contempary it's not a past life regression. Maybe I'm mentally connecting with someone else.

New Poem-This Blue Door
Behind this blue door,
weathered, scarred, and beaten,
set deep within a stone wall
at the end of an overgrown garden path,
where mint and catnip grows wild,
where bright flowers and cool shadows
draws an unwary, weary soul
from beneath a hot summer sun,
behind this most unlikey door
I finally began to live.

First Art Show of the Year
I made it into the Applachian art show in Kingsport, TN. I didn't win any award, mainly because the judge only chose represental works as winners and I only do abstracts for shows. He didn't pick any abstracts. Very disappointing and limited on his part. But the show is impressive, a must see. If any of you have a chance to see it, do so. I wish my camera worked so I can show you the painting I entered. *sigh*.

Poem-My Cat
My Cat
Can you imagine
such unconditional love
compacted into a warm furry form
a comforting purr
and a wet nose
lightly nuzzling my face
his whiskers tickling.

Spring! Spring! I love Spring! I love the Daffadils and the Dandelions. I love the Pear trees and the Redbuds. I love Cherry Blossoms and Dogwoods. I love the fresh green grass and bright new budding leaves. I love baby chicks, and baby deer, and baby rabbits, and kittens and puppies and the warm weather. The warmth makes me want to run around my yard and scream and dance. I want to start digging in the soil and plant things. I want to drive around the city with all my windows down and my radio blaring. I want a new haircut and to buy new clothes that show off my tattoos. I want to tell my boss that I'm taking the next few months off and he can deal with it. I want to go wild!
Today was a beautiful day. What I call a Starbucks Caramel Frappricino Day!!!
