My Dark Angel-A Dark Poem

MY DARK ANGEL

a coppery red moon
hangs low in a midnight sky
you stand in the darkness
beneath a crimson canopy
where October's chill breeze
sings a dry mournful song
and lifts your night black hair
your piercing grey eyes
stare from your pale face
I know your kiss
death cold yet burning
turning my soul to ash
my dark angel
with broken wings.

A Spooky Story

BANG

Stacy groaned and flipped over to bury her head against Jim’s back.

BANG!

Jim grunted and pulled his pillow over his head.

BANG!

“Stacy, do something about that cat!” Jim’s muffled voice came. “I can’t sleep.”

Stacy laid there, reluctant to leave the warmth of the bed. Another bang of the door came. She turned over and sat up. She could see a small white paw under the door where it didn’t quite meet the floor. She could also see the glean of a green eye staring at her next to the paw. She got up to open the door and glare down at her tortoiseshell cat, Munchie. Glancing at the clock Stacy saw that it was 3:23 am.

“Can’t you wait for morning?”

Munchie turned and ran down the stairs to the kitchen door, her miffed owner behind her. Once the door was opened she sashayed over to her bowl to sit with a queenly dignity for her very early breakfast.

After ten minutes of dainty eating and a quick wash she led Stacy to the back door. Stacy opened the door and stared out at the heavy fog that obscured the night. Munchie started out, then sat down just inside the door, looking out.

“Oh, no, you don’t. You are not waking me up again to let you out.” Stacy put her foot under the cat’s rump and shoved her out the door. Munchie turned to hiss at her then raced across the deck into the fog. Stacy turned to make her way back to bed. As she got settled back against her husband’s back she heard a jingle coming from downstairs. She raised her head. There, she heard it again.

“What the…?”

“What is it?” Jim asked.

“Do you hear that?”

“Hear what?”

“That jingling noise. It sounds like it’s coming from the kitchen.”

He listened.

“Sounds like the bell on the cat’s collar. Big deal.”

“I put Munchie out.” Stacy got up to investigate the sound.

Back downstairs Stacy opened the kitchen door and flipped on the overhead light. There, in her bed next to the iron stove, laid Munchie. She opened one sleepy eye to glare at her in annoyance.

“If Munchie is in here,” Stacy moved to the door. “what did I kick out the door?”

Then it dawned on her. The whole previous episode was silent. Not once did the cat meow, purr, or make a sound with her collar bell.

A Dark Romance-Poem

SHE MOVES THROUGH SHADOWS

She moves through the shadows,
the darkened places of the hall
toward him she glides
a pale wraith of beauty.
She passes by the tall windows
where dust motes circle lazily
glowing brightly,
those small galaxies swirling
around her dark form.

Back into shadows she moves
where she cannot be seen
only the sound of dry cloth
whispering across the dusty floor.
Again she appears
within the pale morning light
white skin gleaming
an ancient knowledge in her black eyes.
She reaches out to him
red-tipped nails on a fragile hand,
hesitantly she touches him
Death...or is it Life

Why I Hate and Fear Clowns

I really do not like clowns. Have never been able to face them. It’s a good thing McDonald’s have remove Ronald from in front of their establishments or I would have to forgo their yummy coffees. I believe I know where this fear came from. It is from an old One Step Beyond episode. This one below. Since I saw it I have hated clowns.

One Step Beyond - Clown
Starring - John Newland, Yvette Mimieux, Mickey Shaughnessy, Christopher Dark, Paul Moose Garner, Jack Daly, John Close, Karen Scott, Jim Nolan
Directed by - John Newland
(1960) - B&W - 24 min
In this episode -The Clown, a jealous boyfriend kills his girlfriend, played by Yvette Mimieux, when he finds her hiding in Pippo the Clown's trailer at the carnival. Then - he is haunted by the menacing clown - but all in some dream world. This episode is probsably the original of all the scary clown tv and movie themes we have seen since. Really great episode - check out that clown's face!

Here is the link to the episode on youtube if you want to watch it.

And of course, this did not help matters at all. I hear Warner Brothers are doing a remake. So am NOT going to see this one. *shudder*

An Autumn Poem

GOD’S PALLET

Deep Autumn blue
seen through rustling leaves
my heart sings with joy
at the song of the breeze
God's pallet surrounds me
crimson reds, deep oranges,
bright yellows, deep greens
shadowy purples and blues
dry leaves crackle
under my dancing feet
the scent of life fills me
all is well with my soul

The Rest

Did I mention that on day 3-Saturday-we saw dolphins swimming up the coast, feeding. None jumped though.

Day 4-Sunday-Didn't do anything but swim-in the ocean, pools, and hot tub. I felt like a mermaid-or more like a wrinkled up creature from the black lagoon. Did see dolphins again following a fishing boat. Next year maybe I'll go on a dolphin watch boat trip.

Day 5-Monday-It turned very cold and rainy, so no swimming. My sister and I took the youngest girl back to Boardway on the Beach to Build a Bear. She gets a new one every year. Then we window shopped-prices, as I have said, were way to high-and went to the Kiss Coffee House. This is my niece, Madison. The Kiss Coffee House is so cool. If ever any of you get there check out the bathroom. It is neat. That night we found a steak and seafood buffet and pigged out. I usually don't eat like that. That should fed me for a month!

The last day-Tuesday-We had to be out by 11 am and of course it turned into a beautiful sunny day.Sis and I wanted to spend some time on the beach after check out, but the girls were ready to head home.

I would have more pics, but my camera decided to erase my pics and reformat my card. So all the oics I have were taken on the last two days there. And I didn't even get the cool one in fornt of Kiss. I hate technology. It apparently hates me back.
I'm thinking of taking my other sister's boys with me next year.
So here are the rest of the pictures.
Where we stayed-The Caravelle Resort.

My other niece, Sarah, and my sis, Dianna.

My Vacation

What a trip!

Day 1-We arrived in Myrtle Beach around 8 pm, too late to enjoy any sun. We did go down to the beach for a walk after checking in. Looking up and down the coast we could see all the other resorts, some no more than distant lights. I took some night pics.

Day 2-I went down to the beach for a morning walk while my sister and her girls slept in. I was told not to wake them until 10. Excuse me, but I did not want to spend my vacation in bed. I should of just waited. First thing I did was drop my phone in the sea. Yea!

So now I'm phone less and can't get a new one until March. (note-I was told that I could buy a Go phone and put my Sim card in it and it'll run off my plan. But I'm not to activate it. Just put the card in it.)

After they got up we went shopping because my eldest niece did not bring a swim suit and the girls all needed new body boards. Then me and sis sat in the sun while the girls played in the sea until a sudden thunder storm had us all running for the hotel. Man, those raindrops hurt when they hit. I got some good pics of the incoming storm. After it slacked off we played in the pool and sat in the hot tub until very late.

Day 3-We played in the sea until about 4. Then we went to Ripley's Aquarium at Broadway on the Beach. Loads of fun. I took lots of pics then my camera batteries died. After that we had dinner at Planet Hollywood. That is a so cool place. Overpriced but cool.

While we were in the sea at high tide (3 pm) I saw this shape under the water. Thinking it was a neat shell I reached down to grab it. About that time it flipped over, wiggled it's eyes, and clacked it's pinchers at us. We all squealed and fell back. My youngest niece screamed and made for the shore. It was hilarious when it happened.

The rest tomorrow...

I Will Be Gone For Awhile

I just wanted everyone to know that I will be off the blogsphere for the next two weeks. My mother died today, in my arms no less, and I have to deal with all the arrangements. Then I will most likely go out of town to get over it all. I can't afford a breakdown right now.

It happened so fast. She was fine one minute and then gone within the hour. I was told she was dead before the EMT got there. So, if you have people you love in ill health (or not) spend as much time with them that you can. Love them and cherish them. You never know when they will no longer be there.

An Insight

Today I learn something about myself. I have never been a patient person. I hate to wait on anything, but today on my way home I decided I needed something really bad. An end of the work week perk. So I sat in my car-texting, writing, going over my calender, inching forward only a few feet at a time when I happen to glance at my car clock. I was only two cars away from my prize and realized I have been in line for twenty minutes! That must be a record for me. As I reached the window and forked over my hard earned money I admitted to myself.
I am a hardcore Starbucks fanatic. Especially when a Venti Pumkin Spice Latte with a double shot of epresso was waiting for me. Yummm, Heaven!

Whew!

Been spending way too much time at the hospital lately. Hopefully it's all done with (until the next big drama at least). I'm hoping things will have settled by next week when I take my first real vacation in... like... 20 years. Cross fingers for me gals and guys!
