Summer Afternoon

I made this altered bottle for an artist friend I was visiting as a giftie. I wanted it to have the feel of a summer afternoon pond under trees with sunlight shining through the leaves.

I had to coat the bottle with matte gel medium first to get the textured look I wanted. I also used interference paint to give a shiny look. It also helped that it was a beautiful sunny day when I took these pics.

I usually do not even pick up this magazine. I'm not digital inclined (most days me and my computer are not on speaking terms), but something about it got my eyes as I was browsing the magazine section at Barnes and Noble. I openned it up and...wow! Amazing work. I really loved it. Even if I don't do the digital thing the work in this issue is inspiring eye candy. So I bought it.

I also bought the fourth book in a mystery series I got hooked on. I bought the first book because I loved the cover art. It is a great mystery series.
