Christmas Eve 2018

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing 'Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born
Christ the Savior is born

Silent night, holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth

After a long day of last minute shopping, wrapping gifts, cooking and baking, visiting friends and family, and all the little things that keep us busy this time of year...just stop a moment. Be silent. Reflect on the real reason we have Christmas. Listen to what God is saying to us. He sent His Son for us. To die for us, so that we may live eternally with Him.

Tonight is a beautiful clear (and cold) night here in Northeast Tennessee, with a bright moon shining down. And as I stood out in that cold just enjoying the beauty of a winter night I just had to thank my Heavenly Father for a night like this 2000 years ago.
